Sijo on winds from across the sea a fragrant serendipity the sound of each green thing growing in union with life flowing now opened to a still sky buds of lilacs raised on high Tanka rain water dying to rivers the rivers, the sea in this loss we are found in this surrender set free deep in the sky light of a full, clear moon petal-scented breeze in this night of soft, spring air whispering heart, between beat Ghazal drawn, as the moon draws water, into your eyes we find the deep middle of ourselves drawn--the bucket into the well-- I am thirsty for your taste drawn to where your touch is my touch we journey to the other side drawn, the lines between converging here is the arc of our covenant drawn down into deep dream hush-wings of birds in flight Cinquain summer solstice nearer silence of shadows grow stronger than a sound can carry so far Majorie Buettner |
