SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Read
up, as a few little things have changed. We accept e-mail submissions
only. Please send your work either as an attachment, or pasted directly
into the e-mail. A short bio (short, we say) should be included as well.
Please
send work in all genres. And all non- or anti-genres. We are also considering
visual work that we might loosely classify as literary. What does that
mean? You tell us.
We
require that you put in your e-mail subject line the following information:
LPZ.lastname.genre.month.date.year
...with
the date being a month-date-year format. Use periods--no slashes, dashes,
umlauts, parens, schwas (schwae?) between each of these pieces of information.
This submission, for instance, came from a person with the surname O'Hara,
who will sent us poetry to LPZ on July 4th, 1958—
LPZ.OHara.poetry.7.4.1958
Paste
the your work in the body of the e-mail.
When
you are paste work into the text of your e-mail and something is italicized,
you will want to place asterisks before and after *to denote that it's
italicized*.
HEY!
3-5 poems MAX! Essays and fiction under 2000 words! No teeny-tiny font!
One submission at a time! Send links at your own discretion; we might
not visit them. We've got eclectic tastes, so use your best judgment.
We do suggest you read our current and some of our previous issues before
submitting. No excuses; they're free and they're good! We reserve the
right to have extreme, unfair, or wacky opinions on the submissions
that come into our inbox. We are not objective! Any deviation from these
guidelines had better be pretty darn amusing!
Please
allow two months (that's eight whole weeks) for a response. If, after
two months, you haven't heard from us, please feel free to check if
we're still breathing. Check nice! We don't like to be bullied.
Please
feel free to e-mail us for additional information on these guidelines
or with any other concerns, questions, recipes, etc. you may have. Within
reason!
E-mail
your poetry, fiction, and other media to the editors, Jeffrey Salane
and Danielle Pafunda, at lapetitezine@yahoo.com.
We acquire First Rights, or one-time rights. Copyright reverts back
to you after it's published.
