ONE HAIKU
by Rick Rockwell

love on television
not as strange as concept seems
but Darva present

Rick Rockwell's appearance on the Fox reality-based game show Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire on February 15, 2000, along with the ensuing marriage to Darva Conger and annulment aftermath, catapulted him into the the national consciousness. Before that show, however, he was recognized as one of the nation's top humorists. After graduating first in his class at Penn State University, he took Corporate America by storm, winning Johnson & Johnson's National Creative Selling Award after only eight months on the job. It is this combination of professional intuition and unbridled inventiveness that makes Rick Rockwell such a coveted writer and performer. Many remember him from his numerous TV appearances, including national comedy shows, commercials and talk shows, like CNN and Entertainment Tonight. Even if they don't remember the name Rick Rockwell, they will remember his universally appealing "In My America…" routine. Whether keynote speaking for McDonald's, hosting a charity golf roast, passing himself off as a phony "service expert" at AT&T's national meeting, or opening for Jay Leno on the road, Rick Rockwell's versatile skills make him a comedy hit. He is also an accomplished writer, having penned and sold three Screenplays. His highly acclaimed book, Laughing Your Way to the Top, is a magical combination of "Dave Barry-style" humor and self-help common sense.
