ENOUGH WITH ABSTRACTION
matthew rohrer

1.

You have to have
a fly’s eyes to
see this a form
has someone attached to it
it is like
going to church for
the very young
the mystery seems within reach
and someone’s hand did
this we think we
see an ancient alphabet
of paint on canvas
within reach or a mind
enough with abstraction
we all said we
never agreed
with emotional corruption
that girl walking
into the next gallery
what about her ass

2.

Doctor why do I feel
like this a mysterious
overcast daydream lives in
my bedroom which I
cannot escape by bus
or book I think
I like my own
mind when I see
this the real title
of this poem is
“an early work by
Philip Guston” or the
love of two sisters
which is impossible to
attain that is the
art of the bedroom
a little disorder      roses
