MOON PARTY
cristin o'keefe aptowicz
There is a house in the middle of our street
which has a large silver banner in its window.
The banner reads MOON PARTY. The banner
never comes down. We stare into the windows
and see real silverware, clean sneakers lined up
against the wall, an impressively large teetertotter
topped with a smiling hamburger face displayed
on a bookshelf. This house throws a party about
once a month. The people who attend these parties
are always better dressed than us.
